Underwater Hotel Coming Soon to Fiji

While it’s not real estate and it’s not for sale, we though that Fiji’s own underwater hotel was worth mentioning due to it’s sheer awesome appeal. Subsea construction is not uncommon in Dubai, so in order for the UAE domain to not have a complete monopoly on the market, it’s only fair that Fiji open an underwater destination of their own – to be located just off the coast of a private island and set for completion within the next two years. Bruce Jones, president of Triton and U.S. Submarine Inc is behind the construction of Poseidon Undersea Resort that will be comprised of 24 underwater suites, suites above water and beach villas. Yes, it’s an entire resort.
Sleeping Underwater
Guests can expect to pay in the region of $15,000 per person, but this will offer a week’s worth of underwater bliss, waking up to coral reefs and tropical fish before your eyes, piloting around in a submarine, scuba and snorkeling, as well as golf above water – to name a few of the exceptional adventures on offer. It’s an expensive price to pay, but for such a unique experience, we think there will be a decent amount of uptake. It’s already said that 120,000 people have put their names down on the list to be reminded when the resort opens.
For those who’ve always dreamt of underwater excursions but have been too afraid to scuba, this might be the answer. An extensive amount of research and testing has gone into the engineering and will go into construction, so there’s little chance your underwater haven will collapse on you. Let’s wait and see it gets built first, before we jump to any conclusions.
Would you pay $15,000 to sleep in an underwater paradise? As beautiful as it is, it stirs up some feelings of claustrophobia… but that’s just me.
